Clays used in the brick making process are laid down in horizontal layers in the earth as shown. They are readily available in all parts of the world. The deeper the clay layer, the more difficult and expensive it is to retrieve. Reds and Browns are easy to access and readily available in all areas of the U.S. Whites and pinks are the most difficult to access. |
