One of the easiest ways to reduce the cost of using brick on a project is to use a larger size brick. Many skilled masonry contractors would rather use a larger brick for veneer as opposed to a smaller modular size. They can put just about as many large brick in the wall during the production day as they can a smaller modular size. This allows th e job to be completed faster, with fewer masonry man days to the job. The other way is to use a structural brick. An Atlas 16" structural brick is suited for load bearing wall columns, beams, prefabricated panels, or structural brick veneer. The use of Atlas can eliminate entire walls, as the structural brick can serve as structure and veneer.
